“Preserved Beauty” is a small series created around the lengths we sometimes go to, to hold on to and preserve that which we find beautiful. Plastic wrapping, pickling and the art of preservation/conservation itself, all start out as a means to hold on to the natural beauty in an object. The preservation process however often quickly leaves the object fading, estranged from the natural world and sometimes even more scary than beautiful.
The series “Preserved beauty” was awarded an honourable mention in the Professional Fine Art section of the 18th Julia Margaret Cameron Award.
