“These images were created towards the end of the covid19 lockdown here in Denmark, trying to express the feeling of being locked down, not just externally, but internally as well.
As a selfportrait artist, I am used to working alone from home and I love it. I can follow and act out my inspiration when it comes. During lockdown though, I found that my creativity disappeared completely, between homeschooling, childcare, worrying about the virus, my finances, and being around people 24-7 (even if they are my loved ones). I saw artists creating away elsewhere and felt both awful and guilty that I couldn’t work like that. But finally, when the kids were allowed back to school, I got the headspace to create again. These images were the result.
